Adding a Content Page in AbanteCart

  • Navigate to Content: In your AbanteCart admin panel, go to Content → Pages.

  • Add New Page: Click the "Add New" button.

  • Page Details: You'll be presented with several fields to fill in:

Status:  This is a crucial setting. The status must be set to "ON" for the page to be visible on your storefront. Setting it to "OFF" allows you to disable the page without deleting it, useful for drafts or temporary content removal.

Parent Content Page:  This list allows you to create a hierarchical structure. If you want this page to be a sub-page (or child page) of another, select the parent page here. This is essential for creating blog posts as child pages of your main "Blog" page.

Main Image or Icon: Upload an image (approximately 800px wide is recommended) to serve as the main image for the article. This image will typically be displayed under the title on the content page itself and may also be used in various content blocks or listings depending on your theme.

Author: Type the name of the article's author (optional).

Publish Date: Set the date the article should be published. This allows you to schedule content in advance.

Expiration Date: Set a date for the article to expire. After this date, the article will no longer be visible on the storefront. Leave blank if no expiration

Content Details Bar: Set this to "ON" to display the author and/or publish date on the content page.

Content Title: The title of your content, displayed on the storefront (e.g., in the content blocks, menu or page heading).

Description (Brief Text): This field contains a short, descriptive text that is used in article listings (e.g., on your blog's main page or content search results listing) and, depending on your theme, within content blocks like the "New Content" block. It serves as a brief preview or summary of the full article, enticing readers to click and learn more. This description helps users quickly understand the article's topic and decide if they want to read it. It's distinct from the Meta Description used for SEO purposes.

Content Tags: Enter a comma-separated list of tags relevant to the article. Visitors can click on these tags to view all articles with the same tag, providing another way to browse your content.

Meta Tag Keywords: provides metadata about the HTML document. Metadata will not be displayed on the page but will be machine parsable

Meta Tag Description: (Search Engine Snippet): This field provides a concise summary of the webpage's content. It's primarily used by search engines and is often displayed as a snippet of text beneath the page title in search engine results pages (SERPs). A well-written meta description can significantly influence click-through rates, as it gives users a preview of what the page is about and encourages them to visit your site. It should be compelling, accurate, and include relevant keywords. While not a direct ranking factor, a good meta description can improve your page's visibility and attract more organic traffic.

SEO Keyword: The SEO Keyword is important for the proper indexing of your online store by the various search engines. Click the Generate button for auto-generating. See how to Enable SEO URLs

Content: The actual content of your page. Use the WYSIWYG Visual or HTML editor to format text, add images, and embed videos.

Stores: If you have a multi-store setup, select the store(s) where this content page should be displayed. Read more about multi store setup in this article

Sort Order: Sort Order set's the order of which the page will be displayed amongst others.

Once the new content page is created it will automatically appear in the sitemap page and default template footer.

Menu Integration: Add the page to your website's menu in Design → Menu if desired. This is especially important for making your blog accessible.
