Create a Blog

AbanteCart's built-in blog functionality allows you to easily create and manage a blog directly within your online store. This is a powerful tool for driving traffic, informing your customers, and establishing your expertise in your industry.

Setting up Your Blog:

  1. Create a Blog Page: In your AbanteCart admin panel, navigate to Content → Pages and click "Add New."

  2. Content Title: Give your blog page a clear title (e.g., "Blog," "News," or "Our Insights").

  3. Content: You can add introductory content to your main blog page, such as a welcome message or a brief description of your blog's focus.

  4. Meta Tag Description: a brief and concise summary of your blog's content.

  5. SEO Keyword: The SEO Keyword or Slug field is crucial for creating search engine-friendly URLs for your blog page. Keep the lowercase keyword short and descriptive of the page for example blog. Avoid overly long or generic keywords.

    • URL Component: The SEO keyword is the part of the URL that comes after your domain name. It's what makes your blog page URL readable and descriptive.

    • Indexing Importance: This keyword is important for search engine optimization (SEO). Search engines use it to understand what your page is about.

    • Example:

      Let's say your website is www.mystore.com and you create a blog post with SEO keyword blog

      Full URL: www.mystore.com/blog/

  6. Save the Blog Page: Click "Save" to create the main blog page.

  7. Add Blog Page to Menu: Go to Design → Menu and add your newly created blog page to your website's menu. This will make it accessible to your visitors and search engines like Google.

 

 

Creating Blog Posts:

Blog posts are created as child pages of your main blog page.

  1. Navigate to Your Blog Page: In the Content → Pages section.

  2. Add Child Page (Blog Post): You'll see a section for adding new pages. Click "Add New "

  3. Parent Content Page: find your main blog page and click on its title

  1. Content Title (Blog Post Title): Give your blog post a compelling and descriptive title. Example How to Choose the Perfect Running Shoes.

  2. Description: short descriptive text shown in the articles listing and depending on the theme in the blocks like New Content. Example Your Workout

  3. Content (Blog Post Content): Use the WYSIWYG editor to create the content of your blog post. You can format text, add images, embed videos, and include any other relevant content.

  4. Publication Date: Set the desired publication date for your blog post. This allows you to schedule posts in advance.

  5. Author Name: Enter the name of the author of the blog post.

  6. Content Details Bar: set On to show the author and date on the blog article page

  7. Content Tags (blog tags): tags in a blog are keywords or short phrases that help categorize content by topic, making it easier for readers to find related posts. They act like labels that group blog posts with similar themes. Keep your blog structured, especially if you have many articles. Encourages readers to explore more posts by clicking on related tags.

  8. Meta Tag Description: This field provides a concise summary of the webpage's content. It's primarily used by search engines and is often displayed as a snippet of text beneath the page title in search engine results pages (SERPs).

  9. SEO Keyword: The SEO Keyword or Slug field is crucial for creating a search engine-friendly URL for your blog post page. Keep the lowercase keyword short and descriptive

Example:

Let's say your website is www.mystore.com and you have a blog post about "The Ultimate Guide to Coffee Brewing." as child article for a Blog

Full URL: www.mystore.com/blog/how-to-choose-the-perfect-running-shoes-for-your-workout

URL Slug: how-to-choose-the-perfect-running-shoes-for-your-workout

  1. Save Blog Post: Click "Save" to publish your blog post.

Your blog posts will automatically be displayed on your main blog page, typically in reverse chronological order (newest posts first).
