Manage Promotions

AbanteCart gives you several ways to promote products and offer savings to your customers. They fall into two groups: tools that lower the price a customer pays, and tools that draw attention to products and offers. More options are available as marketplace extensions.

Promotional pricing

These tools reduce the price a customer pays.

  • Specials: a temporary promotional price on a product. While a special is active, the storefront shows the reduced price next to the crossed-out original.

  • Quantity discounts: a reduced price that applies once a customer adds a set quantity of a product to the cart (bulk pricing).

  • Coupons: discount codes that customers redeem at checkout, managed in Sales → Coupons. Related settings: Allow coupon entry and Coupon on shopping cart page.

Specials and quantity discounts are both set on the Promotions tab of a product page in admin and offer three pricing modes through the Prefix field: New Price, % Off, and Fixed Amount Off.

Promotional content and visibility

These tools highlight products and offers without changing prices.

  • Banners: graphic and text banners that advertise a sale, product, or page. Banners are created in Design → Banner Manager, placed on the storefront with a Banner block, and can run for a set period. AbanteCart also tracks banner views and clicks.

  • Featured Products: mark selected products as featured so they stand out in a Featured block, for example, on the home page.

More promotion extensions

The AbanteCart Marketplace offers more discounts and loyalty tools as installable 3rd party extensions, for example:

  • Promotions Management: a rule-based promotion engine. Build promotions from conditions such as order total, cart quantity, products, categories, brands, customer group, country, or coupon code, and apply bonuses like order discounts, free shipping, or free and discounted products. Promotions apply automatically in the cart and checkout.

  • Gift Certificates: let customers buy gift vouchers that are emailed to a recipient, who redeems the code in the cart toward an order. Supports preset or custom values, balance tracking, and partial use.

  • Best Offer: lets customers name their own price. A shopper submits an offer on a product, and you accept, decline, or counter until you agree on a price, after which the item is added to the cart at that price.

  • One-Click Specials Generator: applies specials in bulk. Select whole categories, brands, or individual products and set a percentage or fixed-amount special for all of them at once, with a date range, priority, and customer group.

  • Next order Loyalty Coupons: automatically generates a unique discount coupon for each completed order and emails it to the customer for their next purchase. Supports a minimum-order threshold, a customer-group filter, and fixed-amount or percentage discounts.

  • Rewards Points: a loyalty points program. Customers earn points on their purchases and redeem them for full or partial payment. You set the points rate and which products or categories are eligible.

  • Customer Loyalty discounts: automatically move a customer into a higher customer group once their total spending passes a threshold, so loyal customers unlock the discounts and benefits configured for that group.
