Adding menu icons using HTML resources like Font Awesome can be tricky because the storefront theme needs to support the icon library or webfont you're using.
If your theme doesn't include the CSS and font files for Font Awesome (or any other icon library), the browser won't know how to render the icons.

Novator menu
Menu appearance in AbanteCart, especially the way categories are displayed, is highly dependent on the active theme. The Novator theme, is a good example of a theme that handles categories with and without 3rd-level subcategories differently in the menu.
Novator is designed to present category menus in a visually appealing and user-friendly way, adapting to the depth of the category hierarchy.
2nd-Level Subcategories (Image Slider): If a top-level category has only 2nd-level subcategories (no 3rd-level or deeper), Novator often displays these subcategories in a visually rich format, typically a large subcategory menu with images, often presented as a slider or carousel. This allows you to showcase your subcategories with product images or category thumbnails, making it more visually engaging for users.
3rd-Level Subcategories (Text-Only Columns): When a top-level category has 3rd-level subcategories, Novator usually switches to a more compact, text-only menu with 2nd-level subcategories organized in columns. This approach helps prevent the menu from becoming too large and unwieldy. It prioritizes clear navigation to the deeper levels without overwhelming the user with too many images or visual elements in the main menu.
There is a specific design characteristic of the Novator theme. It's designed to dynamically convert the last menu item (based on sort order) into a button-like element, item doesn't have any submenus.
