Quantity discounts
Managed from Catalog → Products → Edit product → Promotions
A quantity discount applies a reduced price once a customer adds a set quantity of the product to the cart (bulk pricing). Discounts are set per customer group, so different groups can be given different bulk pricing.
To add one, open the product, go to the Promotions tab, and click Add Discount.
Each discount has the following fields:
Customer Group: the customer group the discount applies to.
Quantity: the minimum quantity of the product in the cart for the discount to apply. Set this to 2 or higher.
Priority: controls precedence when more than one discount applies to the same product and customer group. The lower the number, the higher the priority.
Prefix: how the Price value is applied. See the options below.
Price: the value used together with the Prefix.
Date Start and Date End: the date range when the discount is active. Leave the range blank to keep the discount active until you remove it.
Prefix options
The Prefix field controls how AbanteCart turns the Price value into the discounted price:
New Price: the Price value becomes the per-unit price once the quantity is reached. For example, a product priced 50.00 with a New Price of 45.00 sells for 45.00 per unit at that quantity.
% Off: the Price value is a percentage taken off the product price. For example, 10 on a product priced 50.00 gives 45.00 per unit.
Fixed Amount Off: the Price value is a fixed amount subtracted from the product price. For example, 5 on a product priced at 50.00 gives 45.00 per unit.
You can set different discounts or limit discounts per Customer Group.
On the storefront
When a product has one or more quantity discounts, its storefront product page shows a quantity discount table listing each quantity tier and the corresponding price, so customers can see the bulk pricing before adding the product to the cart.
