Images
Click the "Plus Image" button to open the Resource Library popup. Upload an image from your computer or select an existing image from the library.
The display of category images on the storefront is theme-dependent. Some themes may display category images in category listings or menus, while others may not. For example, the Novator theme uses category images (excluding the first one) to automatically generate a category banner carousel. The resource name and description associated with the image are automatically rendered as banner text. If your theme does not natively support displaying category images, you may need to use custom code or a third-party extension to achieve the desired display.
Design Tab
To customize the look and feel of a specific category page, use the "Design" tab in the category edit form. This allows you to create a custom layout for that category, overriding the default layout.
Accessing the Design Tab: Edit a category. Click on the "Design" tab.
Customizing the Layout: The "Design" tab provides options to modify the layout of the category page. You can typically disable or add blocks (modules, widgets) to change the page's structure and content. The specific options available will depend on your AbanteCart theme and any installed extensions.
Saving the Custom Layout: Click the "Save" button. This action will create a new custom layout specifically for this category. This custom layout will also be added to the list of all manageable layouts in
Admin → Design → Layouts
.Managing Custom Layouts: You can manage (edit, delete) all custom layouts, including those created for specific categories, in
Admin → Design → Layouts
. If you delete a custom layout from this section, the associated category will revert to using the default layout or a previously assigned layout.
